At a time when the novel coronavirus epidemic continues to spread and strict lockdown measures, traffic restrictions and limited public transportation are seen all over the country, electric bikes have become a new option of mobility for many people. Therefore, how to deliver and install e-bikes during this special period of time becomes a top priority among users.

In the morning of 18thFebruary, Mr. Zheng, a resident at Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province, received his Yadea e-bike which was delivered by RRS Logistics. Mr. Zheng had bought the e-bike for his wife who joined the fight against the novel coronavirus at a local hospital as a nurse. Due to the epidemic, she wasn’t able to catch the bus on a regular basis. So, Mr. Zheng ordered the bike to save time and energy for his wife. He was worried that the e-bike may not be delivered because of Covid-19. To his surprise, after he placed the order, the e-bike was soon on the way to his shipping address.

According to the tracking result, the e-bike was soon delivered to the local service outlet. RRS staff made a call to Mr. Zheng and booked an appointment with him. Before delivery, the RRS staff member first checked his own body temperature, disinfected the delivery truck and the e-bike package and then put on a mask and a pair of gloves. At the delivery site, RRS staff disinfected the package a second time and assembled the e-bike at a safe distance. After the e-bike was assembled, he disinfected the bike and handed it over to Mr. Zheng.

During the epidemic, the mobility industry, especially the e-bike industry, was under huge pressure. On the one hand, there is a sharp increase in the need for e-bikes. From 26thJanuary, RRS Logistics have provided support to frontline workers and free logistics services for government departments and other public welfare organizations. In the meantime, RRS Logistics have coordinated transport capacity to meet the demands of users.

To ensure the health and safety of RRS staff and users, RRS Logistics made protective plans according to local epidemic prevention policies and introduced six major precautionary measures including appointment, dispatch, notice, delivery, assembly, disinfection etc.

To be specific, RRS staff will make an appointment with the user over the phones and inform the user of safety instructions. Before delivery, RRS Logistics will check the body temperature of the staff member and disinfect the truck. On delivery, RRS staff will bring hand sanitizer and wear disposable gloves. In areas where the epidemic is more severe, they will wear googles and a protective suit. At the end of the service, RRS staff will conduct a 360° disinfection with medical grade alcohol.
