On 9^th July 2019, Haier IoC joined efforts with the China Association of Decorative Building Materials and well-known electric drying rack brands in establishing the Smart Balcony Ecosystem Alliance, and they attracted many top brands to join. The Alliance creates a win-win situation for both customers and the industry: customers can enjoy a one-stop washing and drying experience and save a lot of time; the electric drying rack industry and related industries will benefit from the customer growth. The Alliance, with Haier at the helm, will drive forward the implementation of smart balcony scenarioses.

Laundry and drying has always been a time- and energy-consuming chore at home. For office workers, who have been working hard all day, a smart and convenient washing and drying process would be perfect.

In the old days, people used to dry clothes on a fixed pole. The pole was later upgraded to manual mounted ceiling hanger and then an electric hanger or remote-control dryer. Now enterprises of the Smart Balcony Ecosystem Alliance integrate washers and hangers into the balcony scenario, in which the washer detects the water quality, water temperature, fabric type and detergent composition and connects with the electric hanger. After the washing program is completed, the hanger will automatically lower down for users to hang up the clothes and elevate with a single touch. In this way, the washing and drying experience is upgraded and iterated with the integration of smart home appliances and the traditional Chinese washing & drying culture is also carried forward.

As customers gain more understanding of the balcony culture, the Smart Balcony Ecosystem Alliance will continue its expansion to more realms and attract enterprises in sports equipment and floriculture in the promotion of smart balcony culture.

In April 2019, the first smart balcony solution was available to purchase at the Haier Smart Home Collective Store (Shanghai Shukui Hutai). This solution includes an individual smart washer and relevant products in the smart scenario and IoC. The store also provides customized solutions based on users’ needs. The latest news is that by July 2019, customer will be able to purchase wash & dry products used for smart balconies in 1,500 stores all over China.

Haier IoC is always open to fusion. Beside smart balcony scenarioses, customers can also implement wash & dry solutions in the foyer, bathrooms, children’s rooms, kitchens, or cloakrooms. Moreover, smart customization is also supported in washer, dryer, electric hanger, shoe-washing machines, smart shoe cabinets etc.
